User Forum with Customer Testimonies and Workshops
In their presentations at this year’s customer forum, customers will speak about the implementation and use of the PLANTA software and will provide important insights into their project work. The key topics include data protection in day-to-day use of the software, 15 years of PMO in mechanical engineering, hybrid project management in the pharmaceutical sector and heterogeneous project landscapes in plant construction.
Workshops on current PM topics provide tips and tricks on agile projects and their particular roles and structures as well as on bottleneck-oriented portfolio management and management mechanisms in project management. The keynote provides new insights on how ideas can be turned into projects.

KEYNOTE Prof. Dr. Silke Schönert, RFH Cologne: From Idea to Reality – Methods of Project Management
Innovation is the key to success in companies of any industry. This presentation will present the five success factors of project management for turning ideas into projects based on best practices.
They help you to substantiate innovative ideas, to prevent the omnipresent danger of forgetting and over-discussing ideas and help you to realize your ideas in a target-oriented manner, turning them into an innovative reality of your company.
Rolf Jungnischke, Signal Iduna: Project Management and Data Protection: Tips from Day-to-Day Project Work with PLANTA project

The presentation will address the question of what is to be considered in terms of the compliance with data protection standards (GDPR) when using PLANTA Project. In this presentation you will learn which of the data used in PLANTA Project are subject to data protection and under what conditions data can be processed by internal and external project team members. Furthermore, the presentation will address the specific rights of project team members with respect to their data. In this context, the most important GDPR principles will be presented.
Dr. Gunter Meier, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen: Experience from 15 Years of Project Management Office

Some 15 years ago, Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG has implemented a PMO and has since been using PLANTA Project in combination with the QlikView reporting tool by QlikTech. Dr. Gunter Meier was involved in the creation and foundation process of the PMO since the very beginning and will share his insights into the structural integration of the planning and reporting tool. Further topics which will be addressed in his presentation are the collaboration of project managers and management as well as the mindset demanded by PMO.
Kerstin Moerel, Losan Pharma: Implementation of hybrid Project Management at Losan Pharma

The presentation deals with the implementation hybrid project management at Losan Pharma and the use of the PLANTA Project PM software. In his presentation he explains how the company’s projects are managed and completed to achieve effective results. Furthermore, the speaker will provide insights into already established agile processes and tools and will subsequently discuss how far agility can and should be promoted in the future.
Dennis Tomath, Uhde thyssenkrupp: Multi-Project and Resource Planning in Special Machine Construction
Uhde High Pressure Technologies faces the challenge of managing a quite heterogeneous project landscape since the company assists its clients along the entire life cycle of a variety of products and plants. To successfully manage the use of internal resources, the company has established a central date and resource management which is used for all projects and which is digitalized with the help of PLANTA Project. These measures have allowed Uhde HPT to stabilize its resource planning and significantly improve its on-time delivery performance.
Dr. Klaus Wagenhals, metisleadership: Collaboration and Leadership in Agile-Digital Projects
The workshop provides tips on agile projects and their changed structures and processes including new role sets such as product owner, Scrum master, and self-organized teams. For the agilization of projects calls for an adaptation of the company culture to agile values and principles as well as the introduction of new methods. Project managers must deal with new leadership concepts and competences in order to meet the demands of VUCA and digitalization.
Uwe Techt, VISTEM: Bottleneck-Oriented Portfolio Management and Its Impact on Company Results
There are always a lot more options for projects (customer projects, development projects, investment projects, change initiatives) than the company can realize due to its limited resources. How can the management decide which projects are not to be realized (although they seem extraordinarily lucrative)? Here, the “business case“ can quickly lead astray. This workshop provides pragmatic guidelines which help the management to make focused decisions.
Uwe Techt, VISTEM: Multi-Project Execution Management — More Projects in Less Time
Most projects already become much longer and more expensive than desired while they are planned. And yet they are often completed with delays and content cutbacks or with significant budget overruns. A closer look reveals: It is not the VUCA world that causes the problem but the management mechanisms which are used to manage projects, resources, and the portfolio. This workshop demonstrates how a company can complete significantly higher number of projects per year (> + 20%), substantially reduce project runtimes (> 25 %) and increase reliability to an unrivaled level while relying on its existing resources.
